Non-Toxic Anesthesia for Cataract Surgery

Background: To study the safety and efficacy provided by a minimal localized anesthesia in cataract surgery. Methods: Randomized controlled trial. A total of 100 patients undergoing surgery were randomly divided into two groups 50, which respecitvely received conventional topical consisting preservative-free Oxibuprocaine hydrochloride 0.4% drops or anesthesia, administered with cotton bud soaked applied to clear cornea on access sites for 10 s immediately before The mean outcome measures intraoperative pain incidence postoperative ocular discomfort. Results: All tolerated well procedure, giving patin scores between 1–3. Fifteen (30%) group 1 ten 2 (25%) required supplemental anesthesia. No complications recorded. eyes had epithelial defects at end check-ups. Conclusions: Minimal resulted quick, safe non-invasive.
